On Opening Day, Friday, April 10, the Colorado Rockies take on the Chicago Cubs. We have a feeling more than a few people will be taking the day off to cheer on the Rockies and celebrate the beginning of baseball season. Need a little before or after game food and drink ideas? Here are seven places offering pre and post-game food and drink specials.
1. Lower48 Kitchen {2020 Lawrence Street, Suite A; 303.942.0262}
Lower48 is hosting a pre-game party on its patio from noon to 4pm on Opening Day. Chef Alex Figura will helm the outdoor smoker and serve up Tender Belly Hot Dogs, Lower48 Corn Dogs, Lower48 “Funions,” and Smoked Coleslaw. Happy hour drink specials will score you $3 beers, $5 wines, and $6 cocktails, too.
2. Cart Driver {2500 Larimer Street, Denver; 303.292.2553}
Just five blocks from Coors Field, Cart Driver will celebrate the new baseball season by offering an Opening Day Gourmet Mortadella Hot Dog, featuring sauerkraut and a rich mascarpone mustard, for only $5. Cart-Driver will also be serving its full menu, including wood-fired pizzas, freshly flown in oysters, prosecco, Prost and other local brews on tap, seasonal market plates, Italian style spritzes, and its famous campfire vanilla soft serve.
3. Cherry Cricket {2641 East Second Avenue, Denver; 303.322.7666}.
Celebrate Rockies Opening Day Game at the Cherry Cricket, where guests can enjoy the “Double Play” special, which includes a Coors Light and a shot of locally made Tin Cup whiskey for $8. Don’t forget to grab yourself a Cricket Burger–add whatever tickles your fancy.
4. Randolph’s Restaurant & Bar {1776 Grant Street, Denver; 303.318.727}
Located within the Warwick Denver Hotel, less than a one-mile walk from Coors Field in the Uptown neighborhood, Randolph’s will offer a $10 Housemade Bratwurst, topped with caramelized onions and roasted peppers, with a side of crispy chips. Guests can also add a pint of any local draft beer for $2. Patrons who spend $20 or more will be treated to complimentary game day parking. And, if the weather is warm enough, guests can enjoy their pre-game meal on the expansive tree-lined patio.
5. range {918 17th Street, Denver; 720.726.4800} What could be better than an all-day happy hour? On April 10, enjoy an extensive happy hour menu featuring $4 Colorado draft beers; $5 cocktails featuring Colorado spirits (including Breckenridge vodka and bourbon, Golden Moon gin, and Dancing Pines rum); $6 glasses of Infinite Monkey Wine Theorem wines on tap (including a pear cider, Blind Watchmaker red blend, Merlot, and Chardonnay); $6 appetizers (such as sliders, chicken wings, guacamole, flatbreads, candied bacon, and more); and $7 signature drinks.

The entire ViewHouse staff will be decked out in purple and ready to root for the home team. There will be plenty of great food including Giant Soft Pretzels, Chili Dogs, Asada Fries, Philly Cheese Sandwiches, and more along with a DJ beginning at 10am, tee shirt giveaways, drink specials, and MIX 100 Denver onsite. 7. Zengo {1610 Little Raven Street, Riverfront Park, Denver; 720.904.0965}
The team at Zengo have put together a “Rockies Brunch” served from 9:30am-2:30 pm. $35 per person will get you unlimited small plates including a Chorizo Benedict, Shrimp and Vegetable Potstickers, and more. Brunch cocktails will flow freely along with the their Build Your Own Blood Bar (Mary or Maria) with over 30 fixings. Guests can also grab a golf cart ride to the game from Zengo.
