About The Cherry Cricket, Denver’s Best Burger: The best burger in Denver doesn’t belong to a hot new restaurant, but to a Denver institution. Before Denver was the trendy, happening city it is today, it was a humble cow town out west. And what do people eat in cow towns? Beef. And where could you find the best beef burger back in the ’50s? The same place you can find the best burger today: The Cherry Cricket {2641 East Second Avenue, Denver; 303.322.7666}.

While the Cherry Creek may have changed hands and looks over the years, its been a place to enjoy hearty grub since 1951. You can top the half-pound Cricket Burger with any of the 30-plus toppings you’d like, which range from cream cheese and corned beef, to an egg cooked to order, to grape jelly and peanut butter, to sauerkraut. No burger is complete without fries, and The Cherry Cricket serves them regular or steak style, and also offers onion rings.

Runners-Up: Park Burger, TAG Burger Bar, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar (tied three ways)
